Abdullah is a Cybersecurity Master's degree holder at St. Cloud State University and Honorary Computer Systems graduate of Heriot-Watt University whose goal is to take part in the creation and protection of memorable, interactive, entertaining and narrative-driven games that people of all backgrounds can enjoy.
He is a passionate and hardworking professional with a talent in optimizing, refactoring, visualizing concepts and writing and maintaining documentation. Abdullah has an extensive background in C#, C++, optimization, refactoring, engine/library development, utility development, network programming and game design.
Currently employed full-time at Activision Blizzard, Inc. with 6 shipped AAA titles and 8+ years of experience in the Gaming Industry.
He is also a Senior Moderator for Midwinter Entertainment and Improbable's "Scavengers" and Network Global Lead for ABK (Activision Blizzard King) SWANA Employee Network.
Abdullah participated and been part of Design and Art communities since 2014, including the following Workshops:
— Over 8 years of leadership roles in the Gaming and Entertainment Industry.
— Lead teams to win IGDA's eJam 2020, First Gulf Bank Hackathon 2016, VISA 's Digital Payments Hackathon 2016 and DWGE's Indie Game DevFest.
— Helped coordinate large scale test scenarios with 900+ other testers to ship 5 AAA titles including “Call of Duty®: Vanguard.”
— Worked within agile software development structures using JIRA to track progress, write issues, and monitor changes.
— Investigated test cases on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Android, iOS and PC gaming platforms.
— Created a Crash Bandicoot mod for “Don't Starve Together” on Valve's Steam Workshop. The mod currently sits as the top favorited custom character mod with over 200,000 subscribers. It was nominated during the Indie Game Devfest as a Dubai Game Expo Finalist in 2015.
— Implemented UI integration for “Behind The Door” with different movement setups for the Android release of the game.
— Experienced with C#, C++, LUA, R, SQL, HTML5, CSS and JavaScript.
— Created a popular Overwatch® Workshop gamemode based on the multiplayer horror game, “Dead by Daylight.” The gamemode was featured by various content creators. The code was made open source, thus has improved and unique versions of it. [Workshop Code: NB9ZW]
